At the close of day
The sunset cloaks
These words in shadowplay
Here and now, long and loud
Less than a week from now, I’ll be shooting a wedding here. To say that I’m excited would really be the understatement of the year. And not only will there be a wedding… there will also be hiking. Lots of hiking. And peregrination of the most highly anticipated sort: the Antrim Coast and Giant’s Causeway, the Bloody Foreland and Mount Errigal, The Cliffs of Moher and the Dingle Peninsula… sigh. Not to mention some catching up with treasured friends.
With a journey of that nature on my mind, this image spoke to me… of paths that twist gently through lush forests, of clover and ferns that cover the ground, of the expectation of what might lie just beyond the next turn.
Lyrics from DeVotchKa’s The Last Beat of My Heart, which is an amazingly beautiful song that’s been haunting my mind lately. Image by the remarkable Zero Image Pinhole, who still, after over four years of knowing him, surprises me.
